Acid lounge 'live'

ACID LOUNGE ‘LIVE’ is a new and vibrantly exciting 7-piece band, fronted by guitarist and composer DAVE MASCALL. Featuring the soulful vocals of Julia Quinn, along with Ian Thompson (saxophone) and Mike King (Keyboards), the band line-up is completed by a seriously groovy rhythm and percussion section!
Definitely a great band to watch, Acid Lounge Live will be performing a selection of Dave’s original tracks (taken from his current Acid Lounge albums), alongside some top Soul and Jazz-funk classics.

DAVE MASCALL - GUITAR/ COMPOSER

Born in Southend, Essex, Dave began playing the guitar at the age of 14. He soon discovered that his real passion was for playing Soul and Jazz music, taking his inspiration from guitar greats such as George Benson, Joe Pass and Wes Montgomery. Being a highly accomplished, professional guitarist for many years… Dave has recorded and performed all over the world, with a vast array of internationally acclaimed artists, including: Sister Sledge, The Trammps, Jean Carn, The Real Thing, Odyssey and Junior Walker. 

More recently, Dave has also featured on many recordings, including a number of UK Soul Chart ‘top 10s’ including his own track, ‘Clap Your Hands’.

As a composer and producer, Dave has also gained a large following and increasing recognition, for his own compositions though his ‘ACID LOUNGE’ series of recordings.  

 

The Music

Dave’s ACID LOUNGE compositions celebrate his smooth Jazz guitar style, combined with his love of upbeat dance music – plus some funky and laid-back grooves thrown in for good measure. His recordings also feature some fine vocal and instrumental performances from Julia, Ian and Mike.    

To date, Dave has released 5 ACID LOUNGE albums,  He has also had 4 recent top 20 singles in the UK Soul chart; the jazz house instrumental 'BBQ HOUSE',  the soulful house 'SWEET FEELINGS' featuring vocalist Marc Juan ,  'CLAP YOUR HANDS' featuring UK Soul star GEORGIE B reached number 8 and NOTHING'S GONNA STAND featuring JULIA QUINN. New single releases from the latest album include 'WHAT YOU WANT TO BE' and  'CARNIVAL LATINO' 

Ian Thompson - SAXOPHONE

Having played since the age of 16, versatile Sax player Ian, has also spent much time touring and recording.  His past artist and band credits include: ABC, Kenny Thomas, Drizabone, Jonathan Butler, Camille Hinds, The Foundations, and more recently… UK Soul award winning act, Georgie B and The Groove Association.                        
As part of Acid Lounge Live, Ian's blend of soulful, funky and jazzy playing can also be heard on many of Dave’s Acid Lounge recordings.

... and with his brand new debut EP 'Night Breeze' just released - Ian is definitely a musician to look out for!   

Julia Quinn - vocals

Apart from performing lead vocals with Acid Lounge (both in the studio and live), Julia’s soulful, dynamic and versatile vocals have put her much in demand as a solo vocalist, and session singer. 
Whether fronting big bands, and Jazz ensembles alongside well-known musicians, to performing contemporary, upbeat dance tracks… Julia’s smooth vocal tones are always a winner!                                       
Julia is also an accomplished lyricist and songwriter in her own right.
